A new commission
I was contacted out of the blue by Francesco D’Isa to work with a porn star to produce a painting for their next exhibition in Texas. So I struggled for months, but think they will be happy with the results. It is an interesting group,
‘Pornsaints’ is an artistic approach to porn, a pornographic approach to art, a pornoartistic approach to religion.
It may just have sparked off a new idea.

The Halo is metal leaf, and the scraffito work was inspired byFra Filippo Lippi’s ‘The Annunciation’. The hair then became a problem as the fine lines begun the bleed into the gold, pain staking work and ochre chalk solved it, I think. The skin became even more vital and I used 30-40 glazes to create that creamy quality.
The Key for the breast was to create a contrast between the metal hardware and the softness of the nipple tissue itself. I used a lot of rose madder to elevate the skin tone and glazed veins lightly thoughout the breast and eye-lids.
